The Donegal Centre for Independent Living is located in the western part of Letterkenny town on the Ballymacool Estate, which is situated opposite the O`Donnell Park GAA stadium and next to the roundabout just passed the Aura Letterkenny Leisure Complex. Ballymacool House is accessible from this roundabout via the estate road .
The main access roads from Northern Ireland to Letterkenny are the N13 from Derry and N14 from Strabane, the N13 is also the main access from Ballybofey and Donegal town. Continue on the approach roads to Letterkenny until the Polester Roundabout.
This roundabout is recognizable by the wooden sculpture in the middle and the roundabout is also adjacent to the Letterkenny Tourist Information office.
The most convenient route to The Donegal Centre for Independent Living is to take the first exit, turning left at the roundabout leading onto the Neil T. Blaney Road. Follow the road sign posting for the R250 road to the Dungloe, ChurchHill and Glenties direction. At the end of the Neil T. Blaney Road you will enter a one way traffic system, keep in the left lane until you reach the junction onto the Pearse Road. Turn left and follow the road to the next roundabout and turn right onto the Oldtown Road. Follow the road to the next mini roundabout and turn left. Continue straight until you pass Aura Letterkenny Leisure Complex. At the next roundabout take the second exit, turning left (signpost DCIL) onto Ballymacool Estate. The Donegal Centre for Independent Living Ballymacool House is located 200 metres from the roundabout on your left hand side.
On approach to Letterkenny from Kilmacrenan Road (N56), the best route to The Donegal Centre for Independent Living is at the Hospital Roundabout take the second exit onto High Road continue straight down to traffic lights (Gallagher’s Hotel on right hand side). Continue straight onto Main Street. At the bottom of Main Street take the second exit. Continue straight until you pass Aura Letterkenny Leisure Complex. At the next roundabout take the second exit, turning left (signpost DCIL) onto Ballymacool Estate. The Donegal Centre for Independent Living Ballymacool House is located 200 metres from the roundabout on your left hand side.
