At Donegal Centre for Independent Living, we are committed to supporting people to have choice, control and independence in their own lives through our Personal Assistance (PA) Service.

In this video, we explore what independent living means in practice and the core principles that underpin our PA service.

– Self-direction means having a voice in decisions about your own life, setting your own goals and determining what is important to you.
– Independence is about having the freedom to live your life in the way you choose, with the right supports available when you need them.
– Empowerment means having the information, confidence and support to understand and exercise your rights, speak up for yourself and take an active role in decisions that affect your life.
– Choice and control mean having meaningful choices about where you live, how you spend your time, who supports you and how that support is provided.
