“Put Us To Work” is an advocacy led, awareness campaign that aims to promote the employability of disabled people across Donegal, challenge stereotypes, and spotlight the capabilities, ambitions, and successes of people with disabilities.

DCIL - Put Us To Work Campaign
Our Goal

Our goal is simple:

Challenge stigmas

Change mindsets

Empower jobseekers with disabilities

Encourage employers to commit to inclusive hiring

Together Is Better

Together, let’s create real change!

Across Donegal, and beyond, we’re calling on communities, employers, and policymakers to open doors to inclusive employment.

“Put Us To Work” isn’t just a slogan. It’s a movement to shift perceptions, celebrate ability, and break down barriers so that people with disabilities can thrive in the workplace.

Why This Campaign Matters

In 2025 the right to work should be universal but for many people with disabilities, it’s still out of reach.

%

…of people with disabilities at working age in Donegal are employed.

%

…of disabled people in Ireland are in employment. EU average: 51.3%.

Ireland ranks near the bottom in Europe for disability employment, at just 32.6%, far below the EU average of 51.3%

“What we’re lacking isn’t ability, it’s opportunity!”
