Personal Assistance

At the Donegal Centre for Independent Living (DCIL), our core offering is the Personal Assistant (PA) Service, created to empower people with disabilities to live independently and on their own terms.

Guided by the principles of Independent Living, our service is built on the belief that everyone should have the same opportunities, whether that’s growing up with family, going to local schools, using public transport, finding meaningful employment, or taking part in social, cultural, and recreational life.

For many individuals, true independence is made possible with the support of a Personal Assistant (PA). Under the direction of the person receiving support, referred to as the Leader, PAs provide personalised assistance in key areas such as:
